The annual Fall Conference of the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians (ATNI) was held September 14-17 in Spokane, Washington at the Northern Quest Resort.
OneNet representative Mike Gaffney had the opportunity to speak during a joint session of the Energy/Telecom and Law/Justice Committees about WON’s efforts to engage tribes in the data collection phase of FirstNet. OneNet has created a version of the responder survey that will be used by Tribal Nations. Gaffney also explained no individually identifiable tribal information will be shared with OneNet or FirstNet. WSU will warehouse the data so that each tribe will have access to their data at anytime.
As as result, ATNI leadership passed ATNI Res-15-60 in support of our ongoing outreach and data collection.
WON appreciates the continued support from ATNI, which continues to lead the nation in policy development in Indian Country.
